The Computer Information Technology (A.S.) program at Valencia College prepares students for immediate entry into the information technology workforce while supporting transfer opportunities to four-year institutions. The program emphasizes hands-on instruction in technical support, customer service, and computer security, and is designed to meet the needs of diverse learners. Faculty play a key role in delivering applied, industry-relevant curriculum and in supporting student success through advising, mentoring, and collaborative program planning.

- Full-time instructional faculty are required to work a minimum of 40-hours per week which include the following responsibilities:
- Teaching
- Course preparation
- Student engagement
- Professional development
- Institutional service
Instructional Workload
- Fall 18 hours
- Spring 18 hours
- Summer 0 hours
Note: A contact hour refers to one hour of direct instructional time with students per week. For example, a course that meets three hours per week counts as 3 contact hours.
- The length of the contract is in accordance with the academic calendar
Salary Information:
Salary is determined based on relevant work experience and the highest degree earned. The salary ranges for each degree level are outlined below:

Masters: $46,027 – $56,248
Masters+30: $49,709 – $60,748
Doctorate: $51,550 – $62,998

Requirements
What are the Position Requirements:
- A Master’s degree from a regionally accredited institution with a major in computer science, computer technology, computer programming, computer information systems, computer-based information systems (e.g., management, decision), software engineering, computer engineering or information technology OR 18 graduate semester hours in computer science, computer technology, computer programming, computer information systems, computer-based information systems (e.g., management, decision), software engineering, computer engineering or information technology and a master’s degree by the official start date (August 2026).
- This position may require online, mixed-mode, and face-to-face teaching modalities. Note: Mixed-Mode is a hybrid modality that includes face-to-face and asynchronous online instruction weekly.
- Please note that you will need to establish and maintain Florida residency within 30 days from your start date if selected for this position.
