The Department of Integrative Physiology (IPHY) at the University of Colorado Boulder invites applicants for a full-time (100%), non-tenure track Assistant Teaching Professor with a primary focus on undergraduate teaching in nutrition and health-related courses beginning in Fall 2026. The position will be a member of the IPHY faculty and will participate in course development and assessment, faculty governance, and university service. This position includes an effort allocation of 85% teaching and 15% service.
Teach the equivalent of eight courses during the academic year on the CU Boulder campus, with instructional support and shared course resources for large-enrollment courses. Teaching responsibilities include multiple large health-related courses delivered primarily in person, with some courses or sections offered online, including (but not limited to):
Introduction to Nutrition (IPHY 2420).
Clinical Nutrition (IPHY 3440).
Nutrition and Human Performance (IPHY 4420).
Develop, deliver, and continuously refine undergraduate courses using evidence-based and inclusive teaching practices across in-person and online instructional modalities.
Design assessments aligned with course and program learning goals.
Participate in program-level assessment and curriculum initiatives.
Mentor and supervise undergraduate students and instructional support staff such as undergraduate and graduate teaching assistants and graders, as appropriate.
Participate in departmental, college, and university service activities and contributions to program development, student engagement, and professional service related to nutrition or health education.
This is a non-tenure-track faculty position with an initial three-year term that may be renewable, contingent on performance, programmatic needs, and available funding.
The anticipated start date of this position is August 13th, 2026.
The position is based on the CU Boulder campus and involves primarily in-person teaching.
Final candidates will be required to complete a background check and must be legally authorized to work in the United States.
There may be opportunities during summer sessions to teach additional courses on a per diem basis.
Requirements
Masters of Science degree from an accredited institution in human nutrition, nutrition science, dietetics, integrative physiology, or a closely related or interdisciplinary field.
Demonstrated or emerging success teaching at the university level.
