ABOUT THE DEPARTMENT
The University of Cincinnati (UC) Department of Computer Science (CS) (https://ceas.uc.edu/academics/departments/computer-science.html) in the College of Engineering and Applied Science (CEAS) provides a number of core courses to both undergraduate and graduate students, including those taken by all first-year computer science and engineering students. The Department of CS offers ABET-accredited undergraduate programs in Computer Science. The department also has graduate programs that confer Master of Science, Master of Engineering, and Doctor of Philosophy degrees. JOB OVERVIEW
The Department of CS is dedicated to educational excellence and developing and sustaining premier research programs with national and international recognition. The Department invites applications for multiple full-time, non-tenure track positions as an Assistant/Associate/Full Professor – Educator in Computer Science. These positions will focus on teaching Computer Science undergraduate and graduate courses as assigned at UC. The positions are 9-month full-time appointments, paid over 12 months with full University faculty benefits. The salary and rank of the positions will be commensurate with credentials.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
-Teaching graduate and undergraduate courses, with particular emphasis on programming languages, operating systems, computer architecture, data structures, and/or algorithms.
- Participating in service-related activities, such as serving on departmental and/or college committees.
-Contributing to the department’s educational and mentoring mission of preparing undergraduate students to become high-performing professionals in the workplace including but not limited to providing structured academic and/or career mentoring and facilitating professional development opportunities.
- Advising undergraduate students including but not limited to senior design projects and advising graduate students on capstone projects.
- May participate in curriculum and course development, including distance learning classes and e-learning experiences.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
Prior to the effective date of appointment, a PhD in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or closely related field.
