Overview
Everblue is seeking an experienced curriculum developer to update and enhance our RESNET HERS Rater training curriculum. This role requires a subject matter expert who is also skilled in instructional design and understands how to translate technical building science concepts into engaging, effective training.
The ideal candidate is a certified RESNET HERS Rater with hands-on field experience and a strong understanding of how raters are trained, tested, and certified. You will help ensure our training materials are accurate, up to date with current standards, and structured in a way that helps students succeed both in the classroom and in the field.
Key Responsibilities
- Review and update existing RESNET HERS Rater training curriculum for accuracy, clarity, and alignment with current RESNET standards
- Improve course structure, flow, and instructional design to enhance student comprehension and engagement
- Update training materials including slide decks, instructor guides, student manuals, exercises, and assessments
- Ensure curriculum reflects current modeling practices, testing protocols, and program requirements
- Incorporate real-world examples, field scenarios, and best practices from HERS rating experience
- Collaborate with Everblue’s training and marketing teams to ensure course materials are clear, practical, and effective
- Recommend improvements to training delivery, learning activities, and evaluation methods
- Ensure curriculum supports students preparing for RESNET HERS Rater certification exams and field requirements
Required Qualifications
- Active or former certification as a RESNET HERS Rater
- Strong understanding of the RESNET standards, HERS Index methodology, and rating process
- Hands-on field experience conducting HERS ratings and inspections
- Experience with rating software such as Ekotrope or REM/Rate
- Experience developing or updating technical training, curriculum, or instructional materials
- Ability to simplify complex technical concepts into clear, structured learning content
- Strong writing, editing, and organizational skills
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience teaching or delivering RESNET HERS Rater training
- Background in instructional design, adult learning, or workforce training
- Familiarity with online learning platforms or hybrid training formats
- Experience developing certification preparation materials or exam questions
