Description
Job Summary:
In this role, you will perform activities related to the day-to-day administration and maintenance of databases/applications. You will perform installations, backup, and recovery, and will work closely with managers on database capabilities and problems. You will play an important role in ensuring databases are available, performing properly, and secure.
"This position is designated as part-time telework per our global telework policy and may require at least three days of in-person attendance per week at the assigned office or project. Weekly in-person schedules will be determined by the individual and their supervisor, in consultation with functional or project leadership”
Major Responsibilities:
Performs activities related to the day-to-day administration and maintenance of databases and/or applications, ensuring they are available, performing properly, and secure with less guidance from the senior DBA’s
Performs installations, upgrades and patching, code-migration backup and recovery, security, and monitoring in a more independent manner with less help from senior DBA’s
Performs simple database and/or middleware performance tuning
Provides user support for actions such as changing passwords, configurations and troubleshoot more complex issues
Assists with application support teams to troubleshoot integration and other issues
Assists other DBA’s and I&D infrastructure teams on OS, database, network, cloud and security issues
Confers with appropriate managers regarding problems with and capabilities of databases/applications of basic to intermediate scope
Works independently on SR updates, Service Now updates, Jira Ticket updates and other database monitoring and management tools for day-to-day health checks resolutions.
Requirements
Education and Experience Requirements:
Recognized degree in Computer Science or Information Systems from an accredited college or university, or specialized courses in general information technology or relevant information technology disciplines
4+ years experience as an Oracle DBA with Windows platform experience
2 or more years as an MS SQL Server DBA
Extensive experience with Oracle Enterprise Manager (OEM) and SQL Server Management Studio

Microsoft Windows 2019/2022 Intermediate Level Proficiency
Oracle Linux 2022 Intermediate Level Proficiency
Oracle RDBMS (19c and Multitenant) Advanced Intermediate Level Proficiency
MS SQL Server (2016,2019,2022, 2025) Advanced Intermediate Level Proficiency
Additional Qualifications/ Skills:
Knowledge of various forms of database high availability options and replication
Knowledge of PostgreSQL, MongoDB, Neo4j
Knowledge of Azure Cloud support including Azure SQL, Azure Key Vault
Knowledge of scripting languages including PowerShell, Python
Knowledge of projects or functions including engineering, procurement, construction, and other business applications
Knowledge of infrastructure systems architecture concepts, configurations, and standards
Skill in working with customers to understand their requirements and expectations by asking questions and listening
Able to work a flexible schedule to support activities as necessary
Strong oral and written communication skills are required
Extensive work experience in information technology or relevant equivalent experience in other information systems and technology disciplines
Must demonstrate a systematic, disciplined, and analytical approach to problem solving
Oracle certification preferred
