- Entry Level Hydraulic Modeler and SWM Designer

To meet our growing Canadian business needs, we are looking for an Entry Level Hydraulic Modeler in our Winnipeg office. The successful individual will support a range of projects for clients in major public and private sector organizations and will become part of a respected and ambitious company with excellent career prospects. We work closely with colleagues across the company to ensure an integrated and solutions-driven approach to resilience and sustainability.
The successful candidate will have design experience or a strong interest in water resources areas such as drainage, stormwater management and low impact development (LID) technology, and hydraulic modeling in urban water and wastewater systems. Strong interpersonal skills are essential, including the ability to develop effective working relationships with colleagues and clients, and to develop and motivate others in the team.
Responsibilities include supporting and collaborating with our Conveyance, Transportation and Buildings teams on multi-disciplinary projects, as well as with the client on:
Planning, designing, and modeling of roadway surface drainage systems, stormwater management facilities and LID measures.
Analysist of Urban hydraulic linear infrastructure such as hydraulic
Requirements
* Bachelor of engineering or related discipline.
* 0 to 3 years of experience in hydraulic modeling for linear infrastructure projects.
* Familiarity with design of surface drainage systems, stormwater management measures and LID features, including, but not limited to water quality and quantity control.
The ideal candidate will possess the following skills and experience:
Eligible to be licensed to practice as a professional engineer in Winnipeg within 3 to 4 years
Knowledge of municipal and provincial review processes and standards for permitting and approvals, including legislation, standards, regulations and guidelines pertaining to site works and storm water services.
Familiar with Winnipeg design manuals, standards, tools and other water resources guidelines.
Strong interpersonal and communication skills to collaborate in multidisciplinary project teams, prepare technical reports, etc.
Knowledge of or direct experience with gravity drainage software such as InfoWorks ICM, PCSWMM, and MIKE Urban, MIKE+
Knowledge of or direct experience with flood modeling software such as HEC-RAS, HEC-HMS
Skilled in common desktop applications (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Teams, Project, etc.)
Additional skills and experience could include:
Knowledge of or direct experience with industry standard CAD including Civil 3d
Knowledge of or direct experience with Arc GIS/Arc Map
