The Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology invites applications for a full-time, investigator-track faculty position at the level of Assistant Professor and as part of the WashU-Women’s Reproductive Health Research: Gateway to Improving Women’s Reproductive Health K12 program. Outstanding individuals with a track-record in basic/clinical/translational research with a focus on the biomedical and biobehavioral aspects of women’s reproductive health are encouraged to apply.
We offer competitive start-up funding, well-designed laboratory space, advanced training opportunities, and an accomplished group of mentors as part of the K12 program. The applicant will have access to outstanding core facilities in the Center for Reproductive Health Sciences and biorepositories for basic and translational research opportunities and an excellent research infrastructure in the Division of Clinical Research. In addition, the applicant will also have access to world-class resources at WashU Medicine. Candidates will join a vibrant, multidisciplinary research community with access to state-of-the-art facilities, experienced mentors, and a collaborative research environment. Applicants will be expected to establish a dynamic, interactive, extramurally-funded research program and share our commitment to education by teaching or supervising post-doctoral, graduate and undergraduate trainees, medical students, residents and clinical fellows. Duties may involve other scholarly activities as assigned by the Department. Per NIH K12 program requirements, WRHR Scholars must devote a minimum of 75% full-time professional effort (or 50% for surgical specialties) to research and career development activities supported by this program.

The Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology includes over 50 full-time faculty members organized in the following divisions: Academic Specialists of Obstetrics and Gynecology including Pediatric and Adolescent Gynecology, Gynecologic Oncology, Reproductive Endocrinology and Infertility, Urogynecology and Reconstructive Pelvic Surgery, Minimally Invasive Gynecologic Surgery, Maternal-Fetal Medicine and Ultrasound, Complex Family Planning, Basic Research/Center for Reproductive Health Sciences, and Clinical Research. In 2024, the Department was ranked 8th in NIH funding among all obstetrics and gynecology departments at US medical schools as reported by the Blue Ridge Institute for Medical Research. Requirements
Prospective candidates should hold an MD, DO, or equivalent degree and have completed postgraduate residency in obstetrics and gynecology. Candidates should have a strong record of academic productivity and commitment to a research career. U.S. citizenship or permanent residency is required.
