We care for more New Yorkers with cancer than any other health system. With Northwell’s acquisition of Nuvance Health, we’ve increased that capacity even more, extending our reach into Connecticut and the Hudson Valley. Meanwhile, we continue to add services at existing locations, and to recruit top specialists. Our goal is to provide the majority of our services in or near the communities where our patients live, work and raise families. Co-locating surgery, medical oncology and radiation oncology in one physical location, wherever possible, makes a big difference to patients who are dealing with the disruption of cancer, and shouldn’t have to add traveling long distances to their list of concerns. We’re also focused on offering standardized care, so that all our patients can be assured that no matter where they live, they’ll receive the highest standard of care. To simplify the journey, dedicated nurse navigators connect patients to the services they need, when and where they need them. Breaking through boundaries, both geographic ones and those that have kept people from receiving the care they deserve, is what we do at the Northwell Cancer Institute.
Northwell Health is New York State’s largest health care provider and private employer, with 28 hospitals and 1,050 outpatient facilities. This means expanded access to renowned care, resources and expertise has come to 12 counties. We care for over two million people annually in the New York metro area and beyond, thanks to philanthropic support from our communities. Our 103,500 employees – 19,000+ nurses and 12,000+ credentialed physicians, including members of Northwell Health Physician Partners – are working to change health care for the better.
