Description
Maintenance Engineer (Richmond, CA) (multiple positions).
Support and monitor mechanical integrity activities for PSM compliance. Apply appropriate reliability engineering tools to drive improvements, optimize costs, and improve AE. Develop systematic equipment maintenance strategy including parts management. Establish, monitor, and optimize Preventative and Predictive Maintenance program. Lead the Bad Actor Program and create action plans for improving reliability. Support the development and adherence to technical engineering specifications. Assist in the training and development of in-house plant engineering and maintenance resources. Develop, execute, and monitor Authorizations for Expenditure (AFE) and projects. Provide support to maintenance supervisor and employees including technical assistance, equipment troubleshooting, and maintenance-initiated projects.
Salary: $126,131 to $139,000 per year.
Requires a Master’s degree or foreign equivalent in Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, Reliability Engineering, or related, and two years (24 months) in the job offered or any position in which the required experience was gained. Also requires two years of work experience with: 1) Reliability engineering tools and methodologies: Failure Modes and Effects Analysis (FMEA), Root Cause Analysis (RCA), Reliability-Centered Maintenance (RCM), Risk-Based Inspection (RBI), Bad Actor Analysis, and Corrective Action Planning; 2) Preventive and predictive maintenance methodologies: developing and optimizing PM and PdM schedules and predictive tools including: vibration analysis, thermography, ultrasound, oil analysis; 3) Mechanical integrity and inspection techniques: ASME codes and API standards, specifically API 653 (Atmospheric Storage Tank Inspections), API 510 (Pressure vessel inspections) , and API 570 (Piping Inspection), equipment inspection routines, and non-destructive testing (NDT) methods; 4) Rotating and static equipment: performing design for selecting rotating equipment for both centrifugal and positive displacement, compressors, gearboxes and motors, valves and actuators, and fans and blowers; 5) Capital Project management and execution using Primavera P6 Software including vendor coordination, contractor oversight, budgeting, scheduling, and procurement; and 6) work order systems, drawings (specifically P&IDs, equipment layout drawings, and mechanical detail drawings), and Lockout/Tagout (LOTO) procedures.
