Salary: $148,895 - $167,878
Position begins July 1, 2026

DESCRIPTION: The Principal will serve as the primary catalyst for instructional excellence. The Principal will not just oversee teaching; you will cultivate a culture of high expectations and continuous improvement.
Visionary Pedagogy: Lead the implementation of innovative, research-based instructional practices that meet the diverse needs of elementary learners and follow district standards.
Empowering Educators: Provide rigorous supervision and mentorship to a staff of 50, utilizing frequent observations and actionable feedback.
Data-Informed Growth: Orchestrate the use of student assessment data to drive tiered interventions and celebrate academic milestones. As the building administrator, you hold full responsibility for the safety, efficiency, and strategic management of the campus.
Strategic Oversight: Exercise full authority over daily operations, ensuring a seamless alignment between school-level execution and District/Superintendent mandates.
Resource Stewardship: Manage the school’s physical and financial resources with precision, ensuring that every dollar and every room serves the goal of student success.
Climate & Safety: Maintain a secure, inclusive, and joyful school climate where 450 students feel seen, safe, and challenged. Acting as the vital link between the classroom and the district office, the Principal ensures that local school goals mirror the broader mission of the Superintendent.
Policy Integration: Translate district-wide policies into lived realities within the school building.
Community Partnership: Serve as the primary ambassador for the school, building bridges with families, community partners, and stakeholders to support the holistic development of our students.
SCHEDULE: POSITION OPEN UNTIL FILLED.
CONTRACT PROVISIONS: The successful candidate will be offered a continuing contract in accordance with the district-established Principals/Directors salary schedule.

BENEFITS: Health insurance benefits include medical, dental, vision, life, and long term disability plans through the School Employees Benefits Board (SEBB). Other benefits include $3,000 annually for professional growth and development, a transportation allowance of $100-$150/month, and a cell phone stipend of $150/month.
Immigration Reform and Control Act Requirement: The recommended applicant, if not a current regular employee, will be required to complete an INS I-9 form and must provide proof of employment eligibility prior to working.
Disclosure Statement and Record Check: Pursuant to Chapter 486, Washington Laws of 1987, the recommended applicant, if not a current regular employee, will be required to complete a disclosure form indicating whether he or she has been convicted of crimes against persons listed in the law. In addition, a background check, based on fingerprints, will be requested from the Washington State Patrol & FBI. Employment is conditional based upon completion of the record check.

Requirements
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS: Possess a principal’s credential, valid in the state of Washington. Elementary administrative experience is preferred. Successful teaching experience at the elementary level. Ability to work in a collaborative environment that promotes trust, shared commitments, shared goals, and continuous improvement. Visionary, culturally-responsive leadership skills that include moving systems forward, supporting stakeholders, and expecting high success for scholars. Commitment to inclusion of diverse learners. Ability to improve learning and teaching through an effective staff supervision coaching model. High commitment to implementing district learning and teaching initiatives. Strong instructional leadership that includes a deep understanding of reading science, classroom literacy and math pedagogy, systems of support, Social Emotional Learning (SEL), Positive Behavior Interventions and Supports (PBIS), data analysis aligned with human resource and instructional support, professional learning, and coaching conversations. Proven organizational planning and continuous communication skills that facilitate positive school culture, predictability of routines and procedures, fiscal responsibility, and community partnerships. Ability to facilitate group collaboration, adult learning, strategic planning, and consensus building. Demonstrate flexibility, resourcefulness, and a respect for others. Proven ability to be a productive member of the district’s leadership team. Such alternatives to the above qualifications as the District may find appropriate and acceptable.
