Summary:
The Department of Rehabilitation Science and Technology is seeking a Postdoctoral Associate to join our interdisciplinary team dedicated to developing and implementing remote health monitoring and clinical decision support tools. The Postdoctoral Associate will be advised by Dr. Jon Pearlman from the Department of Rehabilitation Science. The primary role of the Postdoc Associate will be to conduct research to support individuals with disabilities and their technology providers to improve health and function.
Responsibilities:
Lead the development and research of health monitoring systems.
Collaborate closely with an interdisciplinary team to develop, test, and refine technology-based tools to improve health and function.
Engage with clinical and community partners to gather information, develop knowledge bases, collect user feedback, and integrate all inputs into project development.
Publish research findings in peer-reviewed journals and present at relevant scientific and industry conferences.
Participate in grant writing activities and regularly report project progress to funding agencies.
Qualifications:
PhD in Rehabilitation Science, Engineering, or related field.
Strong background in assistive technology design.
Demonstrated ability to work independently as well as part of a collaborative research team.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with a proven track record of scientific publications and presentations.
Knowledge of assistive technology, healthcare systems, and disability advocacy is highly valued.
Experience in research and project management in health technology, especially related to disability and rehabilitation, is also desirable.
