The Department of Nanoscience is seeking to hire a Post-Doctoral Fellow in Semiconductor Synthetic Biology (SemiSynBio). The goal of SemiSynBio is to develop the next-generation information storage technologies that are driven by biological principles and use biomaterials in the fabrication of high capacity long-term storage devices that are more efficient than the current system. This postdoctoral fellowship position is part of an NSF funded project that focuses on the development of a novel sustainable and scalable DNA-based digital data storage system in which the information bits will be written, stored, and read through direct mutation of DNA. The goal of JSNN is to serve underrepresented cohorts of students through education, economic development, and engagement of the central North Carolina Piedmont Triad regions.



Requirements

Minimum Qualifications:

• Ph.D. in a relevant science or engineering field associated with one or more the following areas of experience areas: biophysics, bioinformatics, biotechnology, computational biology, systems biology, synthetic biology, soft material engineering, and/or microfluidics.
• A record of publication in their research area.
• Ability to communicate effectively with researchers from various backgrounds.
