Department Overview
Research of the laboratory is directed toward a better understanding of the molecular mechanisms that underlie addiction and improved treatment of substance use disorders.
A Post-Doctoral researcher position is open at Oregon Health & Science University working with Dr. Angela Ozburn. Emphasis placed on mentorship, career development, and research. The post-doctoral researcher will be exposed to a wide range of behavioral, molecular, brain circuit mapping, and informatics approaches and expertise in a highly collaborative and productive lab.
Function/Duties of Position- Planning, designing, and executing novel and complex experiments.
- Employ analyses of data related to mechanisms that underlie addiction, presentation of project results, and writing manuscripts.
- Train and supervise staff, graduate assistants, and student employees in informatics.
- Other duties as assigned.
Required Qualifications
- PhD in a field of study related to the research.
Preferred Qualifications
- Background in alcohol research, neuroscience, and/or genetics.
- Experience with animal research.
- Statistical analysis.
- Familiarity with scientific literature, and designing, planning, executing, analyzing, and disseminating research.
Additional Details
Monday - Friday, up to 8 hours per day; occasional night or weekend work may be required.
Working with research animals/animal tissues required.
