Description
Applications are invited for a postdoctoral position in biochemistry and proteomics in Dr. Feixia Chu's lab at the Department of Molecular, Cellular & Biomedical Sciences, University of New Hampshire. Ph.D. and established expertise in Biochemistry, Molecular and Cellular Biology or in a related scientific field is required. The lab’s research centers on development and application of mass spectrometry-based proteomics and other molecular techniques to study cancer, neurodegeneration and other diseases.
As a postdoctoral fellow, you will work with a collaborative and interdisciplinary team of scientists from the university and other institutions. You will have a unique opportunity to develop innovative biochemical and proteomic approaches to study molecular mechanisms underlying key protein complexes, networks and regulators implicated in diseases using a combined approach of biochemistry, proteomics and cell biology, while being a contributor to advancing research projects supported by NIH and NSF.
We are seeking candidates who are highly motivated, science-driven, collaborative, and have excellent writing and verbal communication skills to join our research team. An ideal candidate will have a strong background in biochemistry and molecular biology, with an interest to learn and develop in mass spectrometry-based proteomics. Previous experience with bioanalytical instrumentation and methods, hands-on experience with HPLC and mass spectrometry, bioinformatics, mammalian cell culture and biological assays will be considered as additional advantages.
The University of New Hampshire is an affirmative action, equal opportunity employer. The salary will be based on the NIH postdoctoral salary guideline.
To apply, please email CV, contact information for three references, and a statement of research experience and goals to: fvy2@unh.edu.
