Description
The Department of Sociology at Washington University in St. Louis invites applications for a two-year postdoctoral fellowship for a scholar with expertise in immigration and/or survey experiments and computational methods. The position begins July 1, 2026. The fellow will work under the supervision of Professor Ariela Schachter. We are particularly interested in candidates with a Ph.D. in sociology or related social science discipline whose doctoral research uses survey experiments and/or computational methods to study issues related to immigration, race/ethnicity, and inequality. Candidates must have strong analytical and statistical skills, and experience with Stata, R, and Qualtrics is strongly preferred.
Primary duties involve working on collaborative research with Professor Ariela Schachter as well as pursuing an independent research agenda.
Fellows are expected to be in residence during the fellowship period and to participate in the intellectual life of the Department of Sociology along with other units of Washington University relevant to the Fellow’s research and teaching interests.

Requirements
Ph.D. in Sociology or related discipline. For candidates finishing their Ph.D. in 2026, all requirements of the degree must be finished no later than than the position start date July 1, 2026.
