The Harvard Center for Population and Development Studies (HCPDS) is currently accepting applications for the next cohort of the David E. Bell Postdoctoral Fellowship. www.popcenter.harvard.edu

The two-year Bell Fellowship is an interdisciplinary, postdoctoral training program designed for researchers and practitioners in the fields of population sciences and/or population health. The cornerstone of the program is fellows’ ability to conduct self-directed research and writing, with mentorship provided by world-renowned faculty. The training is bolstered by participation in weekly seminars, professional development and other skill building activities, plus communications & media skills preparation.
The next cohort will begin on Sept 1, 2026. We welcome applications from scholars working in the following areas: 1) Immigration and migration; 2) Geospatial and multilevel modeling with a focus on heterogeneity; 3) Youth, families, and social mobility; and 4) Aging societies
The salary is $75K/yr plus benefits and a generous research, travel, and computer fund. Open to eligible U.S. and international candidates. This fellowship is supported through sources other than federal funding.

Requirements
Candidates with doctoral training in one of a variety of fields including, but not limited to, behavioral and social sciences, health professions, demography, public policy, public health, history of science, and others (e.g., communications and urban planning) are eligible to apply. All requirements for an incoming fellow's doctorate must be completed by August 15, 2026 in order to begin the program on September 1, 2026. Proof of this must be sent to HCPDS prior to the start of the program in the form of: 1) Copy of Diploma (Preferred); or 2) Letter from Registrar’s Office noting that all doctoral requirements have been completed. This is a residential program so fellows are expected to live within driving distance to Cambridge and work in the office at least 2-3 days/week. Remote fellowships will not be considered.
