About the Role:
We're looking for a Research Associate, Biology on the Research team to help us expand what's possible for patients with serious diseases. Reporting to the Assistant Principal Scientist you'll play an important part in the development of novel small molecule inhibitors and biologics.
What You'll Do:
In this role, you'll have the opportunity to express proteins in various expression systems (mammalian, bacterial, & insect) and perform other routine laboratory tasks driven by the purpose that you can make a difference in improving people's lives. You'll also:
- Perform protein expression in E. coli, insect and mammalian cell culture
- Generate plasmids for transfections
- Purify recombinant proteins
- Assist in general laboratory tasks
- Record experimental results in an electronic notebook system
- Provide insights on experimental design and suggest modifications to methods to address specific needs of a program or target molecule
- Operate scientific instruments, maintain instruments, troubleshoot instrumental/experimental problems, and order/maintain supplies
Who You Are:
You have a Bachelor's degree along with research/lab experience.
You are or you also have:
- Degree in Biological Sciences or related area
- Mastery of one or more of the following techniques/instruments: mammalian protein expression, general cell culture, aseptic techniques, basic microbiology, SDS-PAGE, UV/Vis spectroscopy, plasmid purification
- Ability to independently and methodically follow protocols and workplans with attention to detail
- Routinely perform laboratory calculations
- A desire and ability to learn new technologies
- Capability of working both independently and within a collaborative environment
- Strong problem-solving and communication skills with the ability to present complex data clearly
Nice to have (but not required):
- Additional relevant skills: Dynamic Light Scattering, Isothermal Titration Calorimetry, Thermal shift assays, AKTA FPLCs, operation of laboratory automation systems (NT-8, Biomek, Opentrons, etc), construct design
Where You'll Work
This role is based out of our Research Development Lab - New Jersey office and requires full-time, in-person presence to support hands-on collaboration, access specialized equipment, and/or operational needs.

Pay Range:
$80,000.00-102,000.00 Annual
