Master's degree in a related field of science and 5 years of professional experience
Preferred Qualifications Position Summary
This is an excellent opportunity for a recent Ph.D. to get training, experience and to develop a skill set to support continued professional growth as a researcher/academic. The individual will be mentored and supervised by the CLASE executive director.
This position has a limited term appointment term which is expected to end [2 years] after start date. The position may be extended beyond the initial term, contingent upon continued funding.
Knowledge, Skills, Abilities and/or Competencies
- Demonstrated experience in conducting research and publishing in peer-reviewed journals.
- Strong knowledge of Latino education
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills.
- Strong writing and research skills
- Ability to work independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team.
- Grant development and grant writing preferred.
- Strong organizational and project management skills
- Proficiency in data analysis software and research methodologies
Physical Demands
Normal office environment- Sitting for extended periods, continued viewing of computer screen analyzing data.

- Ensure ethics in research projects
- Design, conduct, and analyze research studies focused on Latino education.
- Conduct and/or oversee reviews of the literature
- Publish research findings in peer-reviewed academic journals
- Support ongoing external grant writing and research funding initiatives.
- Maintain up-to-date knowledge of advancements in Latino education

- Work with graduate students and executive director
- Collaborate with executive director and CLASE graduate students on research
- Collaborate and mentor graduate students and research assistants involved in CLASE research projects.
