Job Summary

We are seeking an experienced Modeling and Simulation Software Engineer to support regression testing and validation activities for advanced simulation capabilities. This role focuses on testing new simulation features, validating fixes against defect and change requests, reproducing and documenting issues, and supporting automated test execution. The ideal candidate has strong experience with AFSIM, mission-level scenario development, and software development in support of complex modeling and simulation environments.

 
Key Responsibilities

Support regression testing of new simulation features
Validate fixes against defect reports (DRs) and change requests (CRs)
Reproduce reported issues and document test steps and outcomes
Assist with execution and maintenance of automated test suites
Develop and maintain mission-level simulation scenarios
Support and extend modeling and simulation architectures to meet training and analysis requirements
 

Requirements

Required Skills

Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related technical field
Minimum of 5 years of professional development experience using C++ or Python
Minimum of 5 years of experience developing with AFSIM
Strong written and verbal communication skills
Active Secret clearance with the ability to obtain a TS/SCI
 
Required Experience

Creation of mission-level AFSIM scenarios and extensions to core frameworks
Demonstrated ability to design, implement, and maintain modeling and simulation architectures that support complex analysis and training needs
 
Desired Experience

Experience integrating AFSIM with other simulation federates
Familiarity with cloud-based modeling and simulation execution environments
Experience with performance tuning and scalability of large-scale simulation runs
Prior experience supporting exercises or events where AFSIM was a primary modeling and simulation tool
