Finvi is looking for a Senior QA Automation Test Engineer to lead the future of UI automation for a platform that serves dynamic, highly cached data to thousands of users. You'll get deep ownership, greenfield opportunities, and the chance to shape solutions that directly influence product velocity, quality, and reliability.
This is not a "write a few tests" kind of role. This is an engineeringfirst automation position where you architect frameworks, design testing systems, and impact the technical strategy of the product. What You'll Do
Automation Engineering & Framework Leadership
- Architect, build, and maintain modern UI automation frameworks using TypeScript and Playwright
- Design scalable test architectures for complex, cachedriven UI flows
- Define engineering best practices for test design, coding standards, patterns, and tooling
- Evaluate and introduce tools that increase coverage and reduce flakiness
Testing Execution & Technical Ownership
- Write clean, maintainable, engineeringgrade automation code
- Lead automation strategy across new product areas, services, and integration points
- Solve complex testing challenges involving async rendering, cached state, and dynamic UI behavior
- Educate engineers and teammates on automation craft and strategy
Quality Advocacy & Team Collaboration
- Drive quality discussions early and often with Product and Engineering
- Partner with developers to build testable features and quickly diagnose failures
- Contribute to CI/CD pipelines for fast, reliable test automation
- Participate in code reviews, technical design sessions, and architecture planning
Tooling, Infrastructure & Reporting
Integrate automated tests into CI orchestrations
- Implement reporting dashboards, trace logs, video recordings, and debugging tooling
- Analyze reliability trends and optimize automation performance
- Recommend and implement tools for visual testing, API validation, and parallel execution
What You'll Need
- 5+ years in QA automation; 3+ years focused on UI automation.
- Strong experience with TypeScript/JavaScript.
- Expertise with Playwright
- Strong understanding of caching behaviors & UI rendering
- Proven background building automation frameworks from scratch
- Ability to debug flaky UI tests and async behavior
- Collaborative mindset and strong debugging instincts
- A self-starter and enjoy working independently
Nice to Have
- Experience with distributed or cacheheavy systems
- Performance testing or synthetic monitoring
- Component testing frameworks
- Cloud experience
- Experience building internal tools or utilities

The base salary range for this role is listed above. Total compensation ultimately depends on the candidate's primary work location, job responsibilities, role requirements, relevant experience and skillset.
