Position Title: Senior Systems Engineer- IT
Description
Job Overview
The Senior Systems Engineer position is responsible for the technical design, planning, implementation, and the highest level of performance-tuning and recovery procedures for critical enterprise systems. The ability to think strategically, visualize system relationships and drive multiple projects to successful completion is paramount to this position. This position will also provide subject matter expertise for related systems and technology.
Responsibilities
- Exercise discretion and independent judgment with respect to matters of significance.
- Provide local site administration of IT infrastructure: server, security, and storage systems
- Implementation and optimization of advanced Microsoft technologies
- Configure, maintain, and provide performance analysis of enterprise class storage systems
- Work proactively to determine potential issues existing in the environment
- Apply performance-tuning techniques where applicable to create greater process efficiency
- Develop and implement infrastructure Disaster Recovery procedures
- Create project plans and documentation
- Work with IT, other business units, and external vendors to implement new services into production and facilitate knowledge transfer to peers
- Research new technologies and innovations leading to more efficient operation of IT systems
- Be available outside of business hours for scheduled system maintenance and emergencies
- Identify and resolve problems in a timely manner
- Gather and skillfully analyze information
- Develop alternative solutions
- Work well in group problem-solving situations involving support escalation
Skills/Requirements
- At least one year of post-high school education or training
- Bachelors degree in computer science and relevant technical certifications preferred
- 5+ years of experience as a Systems Administrator or equivalent
- Must have extensive knowledge with the following technologies: DHCP, DNS, Active Directory, Windows Server 2019, Office 365, Encryption Certificate Management
- Must have advanced knowledge of VMware, Commvault, network load balancers, ADFS, IIS, VPN, APC UPS systems, iDRAC
