This position is in Cargill's food and bioindustrial business, where manufacturers, retailers, and foodservice companies rely on us to consistently deliver the products and services they need, and use our technical expertise and market knowledge to develop innovative products.
Job Purpose and Impact
The Sensory Lab Technician will play a critical role in supporting the execution of high-quality sensory and consumer research that drives product innovation, quality improvement, and consumer satisfaction. In this role, you will ensure the smooth operation of sensory panels and lab activities by preparing samples, maintaining testing environments, and managing data collection tools and supplies.
Key Accountabilities
- Carry out moderately complex sensory trials at the assigned laboratory ensuring integrity and consistency of sample preparation and execution.
- Handle various moderately complex clerical, administrative, technical or customer support issues under general supervision, while escalating more complex issues to appropriate staff.
- Manage logistical and technical aspects of sensory testing of samples, utilizing the appropriate preparation tools, procedures, and processes to ensure scientists and panelists focus on data recording quality and interpretation.
- Support the Sensory Team in registering and delivering reliable data that informs product formulation, quality control, and consumer preference following the established templates and processes.
- Perform maintenance in the lab to ensure a clean, organized, and food-safe sensory environment in compliance with company and regulatory standards.
- Understand and comply with product and personal safety regulations and other procedural compliance regulations.

Qualifications
Minimum Qualifications
- High school diploma, secondary education level or equivalent
- Minimum of two years of related work experience
- Working knowledge of the food industry
- Laboratory experience
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience in a food grade lab
- Basic knowledge of sensory science

Position Information
Relocation assistance will not be provided for this position.
This position is located in PLYMOUTH, MN.
The expected salary for this position is $50,000 - $60,000. Compensation varies depending on a wide array of factors including but not limited to the specific location, certifications, education, and level of experience. The disclosed range estimate may be adjusted for any applicable geographic differential associated with the location at which the position may be filled. This position is eligible for a discretionary incentive award. The incentive award amount is dependent upon company performance and your personal performance.
