A stable, mission-driven public utility in the Metro Atlanta area is seeking an Engineering Manager to oversee engineering operations, manage key projects, and guide a talented team.

Key Responsibilities:
1. Leadership & Team Management
Lead daily operations of the engineering department
Supervise, mentor, and evaluate engineering staff
Assign projects and resolve technical issues
Develop work plans aligned with organizational goals
2. Engineering & Design Review
Review water distribution and wastewater collection system designs
Evaluate development submittals for compliance and constructability
Analyze system performance, hydraulic issues, and water quality
3. Project & Infrastructure Management
Identify system rehabilitation and replacement projects
Prepare cost estimates and track project budgets, schedules, and performance
Coordinate engineering activities with consultants, contractors, and regulatory agencies
4. Field & System Analysis
Participate in field investigations and hydraulic analysis
Conduct fire flow testing and evaluate system capacity for new developments
5. Compliance & Stakeholder Coordination
Ensure engineering projects meet regulatory and organizational standards
Maintain emergency preparedness and safety procedures
Represent the organization in meetings with developers, engineers, and agencies
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Civil, Environmental, or related Engineering field
- Professional Engineer (PE) license preferred or PE-track
- 8+ years of water/wastewater engineering experience, including leadership roles
- Experience with design review, project management, and regulatory compliance
- Strong communication and leadership skills
