Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • 15+ years of relevant experience.
  • PhD degree in applied math or similar or significant relevant and recognized experience in the topic area.
  • Extended applied math research portfolio relevant to DOE.

  • Knowledge and working experience in applied math at scale on high performance computing systems.
  • Ability to lead and build high performance teams.
  • Experience in mentoring.
  • Ability to communicate effectively in writing and verbally.

Preferred Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

  • Experience with large scale experimental facilities.
  • Experience in obtaining DOE ASCR grants.
  • Ability to obtain a clearance.

Other Information:

  • Work arrangement is hybrid.  We would prefer for the candidate to work pre-dominantly on-site.
  • Travel requirements will be largely limited to the US.
  • Brookhaven National Laboratory is committed to providing fair, equitable and competitive compensation. Salary offers will be commensurate with the final candidate’s qualification, education and experience and considered with the internal peer group.
