Actuarial - Actuarial

Prudential's LTC (Long Term Care) Modeling team is seeking talented applicants for an Associate Actuary position. The primary focus of this position is to design, build, test and deliver changes to the PolySystems model used by our valuation and projection business partners.

The individual will collaborate across functional teams (Actuarial, Valuation, Technology) supporting and executing on multiple large-scale projects to deliver best-in-class solutions to support agile model risk management.

Primary Responsibilities:

•Refining reserve calculation methodologies and evaluating reserve impact due to regulation requirement changes such as GAAP Targeted Improvements.

•Testing system changes, utilizing testing plans, analyzing results, and maintaining necessary controls to ensure the integrity of the results generated by the system.

•Implement actuarial valuation and projection solutions by working closely with other cross-functional teams such as valuation, experience study, pricing, external and internal auditors / regulators.

•Utilize independent model to validate third-party vendor system for both valuation & projection.

•Design capabilities that balance model flexibility, scalability, and automation to drive the highest financial, insight, operational, and foundational value.

•Deliver capabilities maximizing quality of end user experience.

Qualifications:

•College Degree (BA / BS) required. Degree in Actuarial Science, mathematics, computer science or other quantitative related fields is preferred

•Associate of the Societies of Actuaries (ASA) is preferred but not required

•4+ years of actuarial experience

•Experience in model development, implementation and/or validation a plus

•High level of self-motivation, adaptable to changes, quick learning, and process improvement mindset

•Knowledge of LTC insurance product is a plus

•Knowledge of software packages used in business communication such as MS Excel, Word, Power BI, and PowerPoint

•Programming skills and experience is a plus (specifically Visual Basic, Python, SQL, or Polysystems)

•Experience working as a developer in an Agile team is preferred

•Solid oral and written communication skills

•Strong team player, willing to perform in roles that assist as well as lead 

•Attention to details when reviewing and preparing documentation
