Description

Teachers,

We have all been affected by the pandemic in different ways. You, in particular, have navigated massive changes to your daily lives, while continually prioritizing your students. You deserve recognition for the amazing work you bring to your community, we want to recognize your efforts. By applying for the Presidential Awards for Excellence in Mathematics and Science Teaching (PAEMST), your life can truly change as well as your impact on your community and school!

What is PAEMST? The Presidential Awards for Excellence in Mathematics and Science Teaching (PAEMST) are the highest honors bestowed by the United States government specifically for K-12 science, technology, engineering, mathematics, and/or computer science teaching. The President may recognize up to 108 exemplary teachers each year.

Who can apply? Individuals with at least 5 years of K-6 STEM teaching experience. Next year, we will award 7-12 STEM teachers.

Why apply? Recipients of the award receive the following:

  • A certificate signed by the President of the United States.
  • A paid trip to Washington, D.C., to attend a series of recognition events and professional development opportunities.
  • A $10,000 award from the National Science Foundation.
  • An opportunity to build lasting partnerships with colleagues across the nation.

When is the deadline? Nominations will be accepted through January 7, 2022, and applications are due by February 6, 2022.
