STATUS: Regular, Full-Time
CLASSIFICATION: Exempt
SALARY RANGE: $35,000 - $50,000

The American Indian Science and Engineering Society (AISES) is a national nonprofit organization focused on substantially increasing the representation of Indigenous peoples of North America and Pacific Islands in science, technology, engineering, and math (STEM) studies and careers.
To this end, AISES provides scholarships and internships, workforce development and career resources, national and regional conferences, leadership development, and other STEM focused programming to Indigenous students and professionals.

POSITION SUMMARY:
The Membership Manager is responsible for working in collaboration with the Engagement and Advocacy Team to recruit and retain members and to drive participation in AISES membership, programs, and opportunities. This position will manage all the administrative work for the department and provide excellent customer service to current members and those contacting AISES about membership or questions about its programming. This will include supporting the Director of Outreach in social media communication efforts. This position will do significant work in multiple databases including data entry, maintenance, and the management of data collection. Additionally, the Membership Manager will work with other departments, including Events, Programs, and Development to help ensure that AISES events, programs, and partners are successful. The ideal candidate is organized, detail oriented, friendly, and eager to learn.
GENERAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Receive, process, and manage new and renewed annual
- Assist in development and implementation of plans to recruit and retain members of AISES.
- Manage Sequoyah Fellow tracking and information.
- Monitor and maintain the online membership processing
- Update internal reporting for the membership department.
- Respond to inquiries from the
- Assist as needed with organization-wide activities such National Conference, Leadership Summit and other duties as assigned by Executive
- Maintain database of contact information for advisors and officers of pre-college affiliates, college, professional, and tribal
- Assist with the Student Representative Program
- Participate in planning and execution in regional conferences, including attending at least one.
- Assist in outreach projects, including research and contacting potential AISES participants.
- Assist in social media communication efforts.

- Participate in cross-functional teams to plan and deliver programs and annual events.
- Represent AISES in a knowledge and professional manner during programs, conferences, events, and other activities as assigned.
- Other duties as assigned.
Requirements
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Associate degree required; Bachelor’s degree
- Minimum of two years’ administrative experience – experience in nonprofit development and/or event planning a plus
- Proficiency in computer operations and use of software, including MS Office Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint& Access), online application management systems, communication tools/applications, social media tools, and other databases and software is required.
- Some customer service
- Understanding and sensitivity to Indigenous history and culture and an awareness of the role and importance of traditional culture in contemporary Indigenous communities is preferred.
