This position provides maintenance for North Carolina Public Radios’ studios, equipment, automation, AoIP and digital audio library systems. S/he maintains the AoIP network and perform daily/monthly maintenance tasks to keep the facilities running smoothly with minimal interruption. S/he will also be a part of the Technical Directors group, working on production of shows and taking on board duties as needed for recorded and live broadcasts.
The range of duties is broad, encompassing anything from replacing a pair of headphones, to setting up a remote broadcast, to installing a new digital console. S/he also spends time traveling to WUNC’s studios and transmitter sites in surrounding cities for maintenance or assistance to our Engineer. This position will help bridge IT and Engineering.
This position will help maintain IT systems that are in place, work on IT projects and help resolve problem requests. This includes support of computer hardware and software, network systems, monitoring systems and workstation software.
Finally work on Facilities projects will be essential, being the liaison or primary project manager on Facilities and building issues and projects.

Preferred Qualifications Include the following:
Essential knowledge of studio equipment, recording equipment, AolP (Wheatstone).
Project management skills and experience; great communication; great documentation skills.
Strong background in media operations, experience with Wide Orbit ideal.
The ability to work a flexible schedule on nights, weekends and occasional holidays as needed.
Ability to work under pressure and meet short deadlines.
