Job Purpose and Impact The Senior Scientist, Sensory and Consumer Science will design, recommend, and execute complex sensory and consumer projects, supporting product innovation, renovation and customer projects. Additionally, you will maintain a high level of sensory and consumer sciences support and taste panel capabilities.
Key Accountabilities
Apply advanced sensory, consumer science and technical knowledge to lead complex sensory and consumer research.
Partner with cross functional teams, developing relationships and communication to ensure project alignment and support at early project design stage.
Lead, design, conduct, analyze and deliver reports and data driven insights on sensory and consumer research to various Cargill businesses
Independently analyze, interpret and present Sensory and Consumer Science results to a variety of audiences (technical, non-technical, customers)
Perform and manage sensory work in a laboratory or sensory kitchen utilizing equipment, sensory software and scientific instrumentation.
Provide technical advice and sensory training to Customers, Technical Services, Product and Process Development and Innovation teams.
Understand and follow the latest sensory and consumer methods and bring new innovative ideas forward to the business and global Sensory and Consumer Science teams.
Independently handle complex issues with minimal supervision, while escalating only the most complex issues to appropriate staff.
Other duties as assigned
While this position has flexibility, our in-office expectations for this position 3-4 days per week.
Requirements
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
Bachelor’s degree in a related field OR equivalent experience
Minimum of four years of related work experience
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
Master's degree OR other post-secondary degree in Sensory and Consumer Science OR Behavioral Psychology or related program
Ability to interpret and communicate qualitative and quantitative Sensory and Consumer Science data and statistical analysis
Project management knowledge and experience
Compensation and Benefits Information The expected salary for this position is $95,000-$140,000. Compensation varies depending on a wide array of factors including but not limited to the specific location, certifications, education, and level of experience. The disclosed range estimate may be adjusted for any applicable geographic differential associated with the location at which the position may be filled. This position is eligible for a discretionary incentive award. The incentive award amount is dependent upon company performance and your personal performance.
