SALARY RANGE: $53,000 -$70,000 starting salary

The American Indian Science and Engineering Society (AISES) is a national nonprofit organization focused on substantially increasing the representation of Indigenous peoples of North America and the Pacific Islands in science, technology, engineering, and math (STEM) studies and careers.
To this end, AISES provides scholarships and internships, workforce development and career resources, national and regional conferences, leadership development, and other STEM focused programming to Indigenous students and professionals.

Position Summary:
The Student Success Program Manager supports the administrative work of the Student Success team within the AISES Programs Department. Specifically, the Program Manager provides administrative support for the college and career readiness grant programs and initiatives. The Program Manager is an integral member of the Student Success team, facilitating the work and impact of Student Success programs and initiatives.
Duties and Responsibilities:
Provides comprehensive and high-level administrative support for the AISES College and Career Readiness programs and initiatives.
Directly engages with students, educators, and other stakeholders to facilitate implementation of programming.
Travels to partner schools to support stakeholder event planning.
Develops and coordinates all aspects of the AISES College and Career Readiness Webinars to include scheduling, planning, outreach, hosting, and presenting.
Deliver, coordinate, and lead College and Career Readiness curriculum lessons to high school and college students.
Provide support in assessment and evaluation of College and Career Readiness curriculum and programs.
Coordinates travel arrangements for staff and program participants, following all established processes, procedures, and policies.
Conducts wide-spread outreach to increase promotion of and participation in AISES Student Success programs.
Manages outreach contact database.
Creates and designs media (i.e. program announcement, websites, program flyers, and social media posts) for the College and Career Readiness programs.
Prepares and processes purchases and payments according to approved procedures.
Assists with meetings and Student Success events by drafting agendas, sending invitations, arranging conference calls, preparing materials, shipments and taking and preparing meeting notes/minutes.
Participates in team planning and implementing AISES events.
Prepares and maintains a variety of files within AISES cloud-based filing system.
Accepts phone calls for Student Success program information, take messages, and respond to general inquiries.
Enters and retrieves data, maintains records, and generates reports from various internal and external databases and systems.
Maintains confidentiality of privileged and sensitive information.
Answers inquiries from external callers, monitor, and respond to any emails.

Requirements
QUALIFICATIONS – PROFESSIONAL & EDUCATIONAL:
Associate degree required; Bachelor’s degree preferred.
Two years’ administrative experience to have included involvement with non-profit development and program administration.
Proficiency with presenting informational lessons and training sessions via both in-person and virtual webinar format.
Proficiency with Microsoft products, specifically MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook.
Experience with other web-based applications and databases.
Must have strong customer service skills.
Experience with Student Support and/or Success Programs in a higher education setting.
Experience working with Indigenous Students in higher education.
Thorough understanding and sensitivity to Native American history and culture and an awareness of the role and importance of Native STEM education.
QUALIFICATIONS – SKILLS, KNOWLEDGE & ABILITIES:
Must have excellent verbal and written communication and customer service skills for internal and external interactions, correspondence with AISES staff, external vendors, and representatives of tribal, corporate and government organizations. Including the ability to compose emails, letters, or other materials independently or from a rough draft.

Travel will be required.
Mandatory requirements:
Must be able to lift 35 lbs.
Candidates are required to pass a criminal background check.
Candidates must have proof of completed COVID 19 vaccination (s) to be considered for the position.
Must be available to attend annual staff retreat. May include sponsored out of town travel and extended working hours.
