This position offers an exciting opportunity to join a dynamic, student-focused department within a thriving urban research university.
Ideal candidates will hold a Ph.D. in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or a closely related field; demonstrate a strong foundation in artificial intelligence and one or more core areas of computer science or computer engineering; possess outstanding communication skills; and show a passion for making meaningful, positive contributions to students' educational experience. Because this is a teaching-focused position, candidates should be prepared to teach under-graduate and graduate courses in artificial intelligence as well as core areas of computer science and engineering. The successful candidate will play an important role in expanding the department's rapidly growing AI curriculum, including AI literacy and fluency, hands-on AI tools, machine learning, generative AI, and other AI-related courses, while also contributing to instruction in core computer science and engineering areas as needed.
The University of Louisville is a Carnegie R1 research institution and a nationally recognized Metropolitan Research University located in Kentucky's largest and most diverse city. The department has experienced significant enrollment growth in recent years and is expanding its programs in Artificial Intelligence and Cybersecurity.
Applications should include:
- A cover letter indicating qualifications and interests (maximum 2 pages)
- A statement of teaching experience, teaching philosophy, and interests in AI and computer science education (maximum 3 pages)
- A current curriculum vitae
