A leading private bank is looking for a Senior Infrastructure Engineer to join its Hong Kong infrastructure team.

The role sits within a lean Hong Kong infrastructure team of around eight people and reports directly to the Head of Infrastructure. It is a senior individual contributor position, with broad ownership across infrastructure operations, projects, governance, stakeholder engagement, and business-facing technology support.

The firm is looking for someone who combines strong hands-on infrastructure experience with excellent communication skills. This is not purely a technical operations role; the successful candidate will need to work closely with users, management, vendors, auditors, and regional/global technology teams.

Key Responsibilities

• Support infrastructure operations across Windows, servers, storage, networking, virtualisation, backup, disaster recovery, and data centre environments

• Work across VMware / Hyper-V and broader enterprise infrastructure platforms

• Support critical banking infrastructure and connectivity systems, including payment platforms where relevant

• Coordinate infrastructure projects, upgrades, migrations, and operational improvements

• Act as a bridge between technical teams, business users, vendors, auditors, and management

• Support incident coordination, reporting, and stakeholder communication

• Contribute to governance, documentation, service delivery, and operational risk management

• Help drive improvements across infrastructure processes, automation, resilience, and controls

Key Requirements

• Strong infrastructure generalist background across Windows, virtualisation, storage, networking, backup, and DR

• Experience within banking, private banking, or regulated financial services is preferred

• Exposure to payment systems such as SWIFT, RTGS, ICLNet, or FPS would be highly advantageous

• Strong hands-on technical capability, with the ability to remain close to delivery

• Excellent communication skills and stakeholder management ability

• Able to clearly articulate project ownership, business impact, and cross-functional coordination

• Comfortable working with users, senior management, vendors, auditors, and regional/global teams
