ABOUT THE ROLE
The Minor League Physical Performance Fellow supports player health, development, and performance throughout the season while gaining hands-on experience in a high-performance professional baseball environment. This role is a full-time fellowship assignment that will end on or around October 31, 2026.
In this role, you’ll work closely with players and staff to help deliver individualized and team-based performance programs, while learning and growing within a collaborative, player-first setting. This is an excellent opportunity for someone early in their career who is eager to develop their skills in strength & conditioning, recovery, and player support at the professional level.
This position is based primarily in Scottsdale, AZ, with travel as needed throughout the season.
RESPONSIBILITIES
Player Performance & Training
Assist with daily warm-ups, mobility, speed, and strength sessions
Support the implementation of individualized and team training programs
Learn to adjust programming based on workload, travel, and recovery needs
Help educate players on training, recovery, and overall wellness
Stay connected with players during the off-season to support continued development
Nutrition & Recovery Support
Reinforce fueling, hydration, and recovery strategies
Support player education aligned with team and MLB guidelines
Collaboration
Work alongside coaches, athletic trainers, and medical staff to support player readiness
Assist with rehabilitation and return-to-play efforts when appropriate
Participate in team meetings and performance discussions
Learning & Development
Receive mentorship from experienced performance staff
Gain exposure to performance technology, data tracking, and program design
Develop coaching, communication, and organizational skills in a professional setting
Day-to-Day Operations
Contribute to a positive, professional clubhouse and training environment
Help maintain organized and clean training spaces
Support team needs in a fast-paced environment
QUALIFICATIONS:
Required
Bachelor’s degree (or in progress) in Exercise Science or related field
CSCS or actively working toward certification
CPR/First Aid certification (or willingness to obtain)
Interest in strength & conditioning and athletic performance
Strong communication and relationship-building skills
Organized, adaptable, and team-oriented
Preferred
Internship or experience in collegiate or professional athletics
Familiarity with performance technology
Spanish language skills
SCHEDULE & TRAVEL
This role follows the rhythm of a baseball season and requires flexibility:
Regular on-site work in Scottsdale, including early mornings, evenings, and weekends
Travel as needed to support team and player development
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
Ability to lift and move equipment (up to 100 lbs)
Comfortable demonstrating exercises and being on your feet for extended periods
Ability to travel and adjust to varying schedules
COMPENSATION & BENEFITS
Salary: at the rate of $58,000 per year. We expect that the role will make a total of approximately $25,000 for the duration of the assignment, which ends on 1-0/31/2026.
Additional support: meal money, travel reimbursement, housing support during key periods
