Full-Time Sports Performance Coach
Cooper Performance – Tampa, Florida
Cooper Performance is seeking a motivated, energetic, and highly driven full-time Sports Performance Coach to join our team in Tampa, Florida. This position is ideal for a coach passionate about speed development, athletic performance, strength & conditioning, and helping athletes maximize their potential in a high-energy private-sector environment.
For over 20 years, Cooper Performance has trained athletes ranging from youth and high school athletes to collegiate, professional, and NFL Combine athletes. Our facility specializes in speed development, movement mechanics, strength training, and sport performance enhancement.
Responsibilities
Lead and assist group-based sports performance training sessions
Coach speed, acceleration, agility, and movement mechanics
Implement strength and conditioning programs for athletes of varying ages and skill levels
Assist with athlete evaluations and performance testing
Provide instruction on proper lifting technique and movement quality
Build strong relationships with athletes, parents, and teams
Maintain a high-energy and professional training environment
Assist with facility operations and daily session setup
Potential opportunity to build and grow personal training clientele
Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Exercise Science, Kinesiology, Strength & Conditioning, or related field preferred
NSCA-CSCS certification preferred
Prior coaching experience in sports performance, strength & conditioning, or collegiate athletics preferred
Strong communication and leadership skills
Passion for coaching and athlete development
Experience with sprint mechanics, speed development, and team sport performance is highly valued
CPR/AED certification required or ability to obtain upon hiring
Compensation
Salary range: $50,000–$80,000 annually, commensurate with experience
Opportunity for additional income through personal training
Professional growth and mentorship opportunities available
Schedule
Typical coaching hours include a combination of morning and afternoon/evening training sessions Monday through Friday, with occasional Saturday sessions.

Qualifications
